Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit the Andaman
& Nicobar Islands is between October and May, when the weather
is pleasant and ideal for beach activities, water sports, and sightseeing. The monsoon
season (June to September) brings heavy rainfall, which can disrupt travel
plans, though it enhances the natural beauty of the islands.
What to Expect
Language: The official language is Hindi
and English, with Bengali, Tamil, and Telugu also spoken by the local
communities.
Currency: The official currency is the Indian
Rupee (INR). While hotels and major shops accept credit and debit cards,
carrying cash is advisable, especially in remote areas.
Credit Cards and ATMs: ATMs are available in Port
Blair, but they may not be easily found on other islands. It’s best to
carry enough cash for expenses, particularly in places like Havelock and
Neil Island.
Plugs: Andaman & Nicobar Islands
use Type C, D, and M plugs, with a standard voltage of 230V and a
frequency of 50Hz. A universal adapter is recommended for
international travelers.
Safety: The Andaman Islands are safe
for travelers, with a peaceful environment and friendly locals. However,
visitors should follow eco-tourism guidelines, respect marine life, and avoid
venturing into restricted tribal areas.
From the crystal-clear waters of Radhanagar
Beach, thrilling scuba diving at Havelock, to exploring Cellular
Jail’s rich history, Andaman & Nicobar Islands offer an unforgettable
escape into nature’s paradise!
